The Frank Nix Award is the highest honor bestowed annually at Arlington, recognizing an associate who exemplifies the values and character that defined one of Arlington’s founders, Mr. Frank Nix. Anyone from any of our companies or divisions is eligible to receive the award.

The award, established following the untimely passing of Mr. Nix in a 1996 plane crash, was created by Mr. William C. Hulsey, Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Arlington Properties, to honor the enduring virtues of Mr. Nix and the resilient spirit of Arlington’s associates, who came together during that challenging time to uphold the company’s legacy of excellence.

Mr. Nix had unwavering integrity, selfless leadership, and quiet generosity. He gave freely his time and resources, encouraged others, and never sought recognition. His leadership was rooted in service—always asking, “What can I do to help you succeed?”

Recipients of the Frank Nix Award embody these same qualities. They lead by example and prioritize the success and well-being of those around them; they operate with a profound moral responsibility. Their guiding principles reflect a commitment to excellence, integrity, optimism, and lifelong learning—not for personal gain but to serve others better.
